Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion (1 large)
1 green pepper chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes
2 15 ounce cans dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
2-3 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp pepper
salt to taste
Directions
1. In a large saucepan cook ground beef, onion, sweet pepper, and garlic til meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, basil, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Crock-pot directions
In a large saucepan cook ground beef, onion, sweet pepper, and garlic til meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain fat. Put everything in a crock pot. Cover and cook for 8-10 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.
